Gather Supplies and Financial Paperwork

I am going to be listing  a lot of items you should have. As with any other habit, this new way of thinking and acting (budgeting) will evolve. Start with what feels do-able. Check Back to these sections as you really get into it and you'll want to add more convenience options. I will list all items that one would have in an ideal world of hard core financial control!

1. Trash can. You need a trash can to get rid of everything that would clutter your work area. Getting control of your finances means your whole environment. I don't want you to fail just because you can't see your desk, or find your bills.

2. Large plastic storage box. Every important item will be tossed into this box and then transfered to a labeled folder (that has the month name) at the end of each month for easy storage.

3. Shredder. A cheap one is fine. This will be placed next to the trash can for easy identity theft protection. You are planning your future in a very positive financial way. We need to protect your good name.

4. Red Pen. To be used to write notes on bills and other information for easy identification. A conformation # for a paid bill would be an example.

5. Bills. Round up all your bills or other obligations. The most current one preferably.

6. Stamps. Enough to cover one months bills. Hopefully you are paying a lot on the Internet and have little need for these.

7.
Pad of Paper. Lined paper, bound.

8. Bill Organizer.

9.
Calculator.

10.
Folder or binder.

11. Quicken. Quicken or Quickbooks (business). You can do without this in the beginning, but as you get more into your money makeover you will want to have this. This makes planning your future and paying your bills alot easier. I recommend this 100%. It is my favorite financial software. I've tried others, this is the BEST! *NEW PAGE ADDED*
